Nice Weather!
So a cold front came through and we finally got some nice weather. Today it was like in the low 80's and partly cloudy all day! It was perfect! It's supposed to be nice for the next few days, so that's exciting!

Rita Update (saturday night)
So Rita has come and gone, and she didn't do much. We had some strong winds which snapped a few trees, but other than that there's just a lot of leaves and twigs around campus. We got a lot of rain, so there's a few places with standing water, but nothing like what was predicted. We never lost power again after this morning, so the guys on our floor played Halo all day. It was an interesting expirience being through a tropical storm i guess it was. Thanks for all your prayers!
Rita Update (12pm)
So, on my way to Saga to get lunch i took some pictures of the damage Rita has done so far.

Here's a picture of all the little branches that have fallen off of trees so far.

And the first of probably many trees snaps! According to forcasts it's only going to get worse, more rain, more wind! Ok, time to dry out!

Rita Update (9/24 10am)
So here's the Rita update for this morning. It started to rain around 9am this morning, around that time there was also a few, many 3 power surges, i could hear the fan in our room die and then come back. Also, while i was out taking pictures i left our TV on and returned to find that there was no TV anymore! The rain is getting heavier by the minute! News people are saying that when it stalls it could dump over 20 inches of rain! I tried to capture it with some pictures...

we're screwed...
So, looking at this prediction it looks like the hurrican is going to stall out right over longview, that's where i am. I've heard that we could lose power for 3-5 days, fairly strong winds, get 10-15 inches of rain, so that's the exciting news we've been hearing up here. And the effects are being felt all the way up here. I wish i would have brought my camera with us to Wally World (wal-mart) this evening, it was crazy, they were running out of food, they didn't have any water, people were loading up! We got a few things, some canned foods, some beverages, we might try to get some water later. It's pretty exciting though, i've never been through a hurrican before, or even close to one, so we'll see how she goes! But please be in prayer that things would get too crazy around here, cause it's all ready getting bad, i mean, it's taking people 16 hours to get from Houston to Dallas (normally 4 hours). If i have power i'll try to keep you guys updated, but if we don't i'll be taking pictures which i'll post when we get power back. Anyways, i'll try to keep you guys (like all 2 of you) up to date on what's going on down here in Texas!
